We rescued NINE ringworm babies from today, and every one of them is looking for a foster home! Ringworm kittens face some of the longest shelter stays if they can’t find foster homes to care for them during their treatment, which means they can miss out on critical socialization and daily affection from humans.

He’s been nothing but trusting and curious from day one, and hops along without letting his leg slow him. He had several deep punctures that may have been from an animal attack, and it was unclear how he’d lost the bottom half of his leg, which was mostly healed over.Īlthough we cant know what Hans went through before he arrived, we do know that his spirit and courage are remarkable. Thanks to supporters like you, PAWS was ready.Īs soon as Hans arrived, our medical team immediately got to work assessing and cleaning his wounds. Hans needed immediate medical care beyond what the shelter could provide, and an urgent plea was sent for rescue assistance. When staff examined him, they discovered a shocking injury: his flank was deeply infected from an untreated wound, and one of his feet was completely missing. This little one arrived at the city shelter with his siblings after they were found abandoned outside. Hans is just 6 weeks old, but he’s clearly been through a lot in his short life. #phillypaws #phillypawssuccessstory #philadoptables. To find your new best friend, visit our link in bio! Thank you guys for giving me the opportunity to adopt my best friend." "She loves to hangout on my window all day every day, she loves to make biscuits and is overall the sweetest cat I’ve ever met. "Queen Lateefers is more than I could have ever imagined" said her new owner. Queen went to our Old City Adoption Center where she was quickly scooped up by a loving adopter. Luckily, the specialist found that because Queen Lateefers' palate deformation was caused by an injury, the shape of it does not prevent her from eating or drinking normally! Cleft palates are usually congenital and can be dangerous if they allow food to travel into the nasal cavity or lungs. Thanks to a grant from we were able to bring Queen to a specialist to see if her cleft palate could be repaired. After her kittens were big enough to be adopted, we could get to work assessing Queen Lateefer's mouth. When this special girl arrived at the city shelter with a severe cleft palate and two young kittens, we rescued her and her babies so we could give them the specialized care they needed. Queen Lateefers has finally found a palace to call her own! 🏰 #getyourrescueon #oldcityphilly #adoptasheltercat #catsofphilly #phillycats #phillypaws. All dog adoption fees are waived throughout the entire month of August! 🐾 Due to space constraints, we will NOT have dogs at the Old City Adoption Center, but you can see who’s available at our adoptions page (link in bio). We are limiting indoor capacity to 2-3 groups at a time, so please be prepared for a possible outdoor wait. 🐾 Masks are required inside the adoption center. Our regular adoption application process is in place for this event: to cut down on wait times and increase your chance of a same-day adoption, get pre-approved by filling out an adoption application ahead of time through our link in bio (**be sure to include “Clear The Shelter” on your app so we know to fast-track it)! If you’re looking for a new feline family member, head to PAWS' Old City Adoption Center on August 27 for our fee-waived cat adoption event! In an effort to #ClearTheShelters in August, adoption fees will be waived for every cat adoption that takes place this Saturday.
